September 2007 Edition

Hey Ho, Let's Go,                              spotlight

Odds and Ends from Orion:
  • The 3rd Quarter was full of great promotions to pick up new modules and extended solutions.  As Sage moves into the 4th Quarter, I will keep you posted on any new product promotions as we get them.
  • My simple request - If you are planning on making changes to your software and/or your network system, my simple request is to call us first and ask about the consequences of making those changes and how that will impact your MAS90 system.  We have had a few people perform upgrades to non-compliant hardware and/or perform software upgrades with dire consequences to their system (Ok, nuff said).
  • For those on Level 4.1 and Level 4.2.  Sage has been consistently releasing a new service update for 4.1 and 4.2 on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.  Level 4.1 is on service update number 16 and Level 4.2 is on service update number 8 (both of these are their Microsoft Vista compliant releases).  These updates are available to you as part of your Client Care subscription with Sage.  If you need help installing any of the service updates or have any questions, please give us a call.

Til next month,

THIS MONTH'S FUN FACT

September has National One-Hit Wonder Day

One definition for a one hit wonder is a band/group that is generally known for only one hit song.  However, people remember the song for many years. Because one-hit wonders are popular for only a brief time, their hits often have nostalgic value and are featured on era-centric compilations and soundtracks to period films. One-hit wonders are normal in any era of pop music, but are most common during reigns of entire genres that do not last for more than a few years, such as disco, new wave and grunge.

Here are only but a few from the past. See if you remember any of these.  Don't worry, I wont tell anyone if you sing one at your desk.

Please let us know if you are interested in taking a look at JobOps for your organization.  As a first step, we can sign you up for a one hour web preview of the software.  These web demo's are held each Thursday in the month of October at 3:00pm (est).  Contact Jim Steele at 248-893-1060 or jimsteele@orionbas.com for registration.

This month's Windows Tip :  Copy as Path

In Windows XP, right-clicking on a file or a folder brings up a menu with basic choices such as Open or Copy. But if you hold down the Shift key when you right-click, the menu will also include an option labeled Copy as Path, and it copies the entire path of the file or folder to your clipboard.

This can be useful when you need to move a single file to a specific location and instead of browsing for the file, just copy and paste the path directly.
