September has National One-Hit Wonder Day
One definition for
a one hit wonder is a band/group that is generally known for
only one hit song. However, people remember the song for
many years. Because one-hit wonders are popular for only a brief
time, their hits often have nostalgic value and are featured on
era-centric compilations and soundtracks to period films.
One-hit wonders are normal in any era of pop music, but are most
common during reigns of entire genres that do not last for more
than a few years, such as disco, new wave and grunge.
Here are only but a few from the past. See if you remember any
of these. Don't worry, I wont tell anyone if you sing one
at your desk.

This month's Windows Tip :
Copy as Path
In
Windows XP,
right-clicking on a file or a folder brings up a menu with basic
choices such as Open or Copy. But if you hold down the Shift key
when you right-click, the menu will also include an option
labeled Copy as Path, and it copies the entire path of the file
or folder to your clipboard.
This can be
useful when you need to move a single file to a specific
location and instead of browsing for the file, just copy and
paste the path directly. |
