Spring has Sprung (two or three times now),                              spotlight

Odds and Ends from Orion:
  • Short and sweet this month, we are busy with new clients and existing clients upgrading to Level 4.2.  Just a note about the upcoming release of Level 4.3.  The last 2 or 3 upgrades involved re-writes of some major modules to get them into the new business framework.  If you are on a level older than Level 4.1, installing the Level 4.3 upgrade will still require the conversion of the older modules (AR, AP and Sale Order) to the new business framework and possibly the re-creation of existing forms and reports in those modules.
  • For those on Level 4.1 and Level 4.2.  Sage has been consistently releasing a new service update for 4.1 and 4.2 on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.  Level 4.1 is on service update number 17 and Level 4.2 is on service update number 13 (both of these are their Microsoft Vista compliant releases).  These updates are available to you as part of your Client Care subscription with Sage.  If you need help installing any of the service updates or have any questions, please give us a call.

Till next month,

THIS MONTH'S FUN FACT

 March is National Noodle Month

Whether they’re fine, medium, wide or extra-wide, egg noodles conjure up images of mom’s chicken noodle soup, classic tuna casserole, or even a sweet kugel. Noodles are a feel-good food. Not surprisingly, consumption of noodles increases by as much as 20 percent in January, February and March.

As legend has it, noodles were first made by 13th century German bakers who fashioned dough into symbolic shapes, such as words, birds and stars. These “nudels” were then baked and served as bread.

Here are a few noodle facts:

Noodle consumption increases during colder months as well as during
Lent, when countless people prepare meatless meals for this religious
occasion prior to Easter.

Egg noodles contain eggs; almost all other dry pasta shapes do not.

By federal law, a noodle must contain 5.5 percent egg solids by weight to be called a noodle.

A half-cup serving of cooked noodles contains just one gram of fat, 106
calories, five milligrams of sodium, and important nutrients including B-vitamins, iron and protein.

Noodles can be substituted for many other pasta shapes in your favorite recipes.

As a comfort food, noodles can be soothing when we have a cold, a broken heart, burst bubble or winter-time blues.

This month's Windows Tip :  My Pictures Slideshow for Windows XP

If you’re familiar with Windows XP’s My Pictures Slideshow screen saver to display photos of loved ones, here’s a twist that you might find interesting — you can use a photo for the texture in the 3D Flying Objects screen saver. Here’s how:

Locate the photo you want to use in this screen saver, load it into a graphics program, and save it as a BMP file. (BMP is the only file type the 3D Flying Objects screen saver will allow you to select.)

Right-click on the desktop, select Properties, select the Screen Saver tab, and select 3D Flying Objects from the Screen Saver drop-down list.

Click the Settings button and select Textured Flag from the Style drop-down list.

Click the Texture button and use the Choose Texture File dialog box to locate and select your photo.

Crank up Resolution and Size sliders to the Max setting and click OK to close the 3D Flying Objects Setting dialog box.

Click the Preview button to test your new screen saver, then click OK to enable it.
