Odds and Ends from Orion: 
  • The Holidays are upon us and we hope everyone has a happy holiday season. With that in mind, here is our upcoming holiday schedule. Please mark your calendars, we will be closed on the following days -
    Christmas Holiday -  Monday Dec. 25th and Tuesday 26th
    New Years Holiday - Monday Dec. 31st (half day) and Jan 1st
    Please let us know if you have any end of the year system projects coming up. December is a busy month for us and we want to make sure we have you on our schedule
     
  • For those on Level 4.1, Level 4.2 and Level 4.3.  Sage has been consistently releasing a new service update for 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.  Level 4.1 is on service update number 20, Level 4.2 is on service update number 21 (both of these are their Microsoft Vista compliant releases) and 4.3 is on service update number 6.  These updates are available to you as part of your Client Care subscription with Sage.  If you need help installing any of the service updates or have any questions, please give us a call.

Elvis Loved Christmas!

When it came to Christmas, Elvis never grew up. Purchasing Graceland gave him the opportunity to celebrate the holiday in style. The driveways and the main house were lined with blue lights, and in front were six 8 foot Christmas trees decorated in multi color lights. Inside, his mansion was completely decked out for the season, with the focus on a huge Christmas tree in the dining room. After dinner, everyone would gather around the piano to sing Christmas carols.

During his career, he recorded a lot of Christmas material. Because of production schedules and lead times, most Christmas albums had to be recorded months in advance, often in the waning days of Summer. To help get everyone in the mood, a Christmas tree set up in the studio, complete with real gifts.

This month's Windows Tip :  Exclude Hidden Cells (Excel) 
      
It's easy to summarize data, but not so easy to copy just the summarized data. For instance, you can hide detail data while displaying only subtotals and grand totals. However, when you copy those totals, you'll also copy all the hidden detail data.

There is a way to copy just the visible data. Before you copy the summary totals (or data), choose Edit, Go To; click the Special button; and select the Visible Cells Only option. Next, select the cells that contain your summary and continue with your copy routine. Excel will paste only the visible cells to the target range.
